ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine the motivational tool and the productivity of office professionals using 10 selected companies in Ikeja, Lagos State as a case study. Specifically, the study was aimed at highlighting motivational tools and how it can be used for the productivity of office professionals, to find out the effect of leadership style on the morale of office professionals, to identify out the technique used for boosting the morale of office professionals and their productivity in an organization, to find out the impact of good environment on office professional morale and productivity in an organization, to investigate the ways in which effective communication of the office professionals influence moral and productivity. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 70 responses were validated from the survey.  From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that The effect of different leadership styles on the productivity of office professionals is that it tends to increase the job satisfaction among employee, leaders’ support and recognition bring higher level of job satisfaction among employees, and leads them to exert extra effort on their jobs and perceive their leaders as effective. Also, the findings revealed that The impact of work environment on office professional morale  and productivity in an organization is that it provides job security & workplace safety, provides Adequate Workload, and Provides training and development. The study therefore organization needs to have an employee recognition program. You can let the productive and efficient employees choose their reward from a list of options. This will make them feel valued and more loyal towards the organization. More so, the line managers and the supervisors should ensure efficient communication with their team through a direct medium instead of relying on mails all the time. Direct feedback and praise ensure a high comfort level with direct managers, fostering trust and translating.
